“Robin was great! Her expertise was helpful when it came to navigating the complexities of the transfer process. She took care of investigating answers to all of my questions and concerns so I could focus on my writing, for which she also provided helpful insight. The timeline she provided to complete my work was very well organized, as it was manageable to get done alongside my current coursework, and I also finished with plenty of time to spare. Thank you, Robin, for easing the stress of this process and getting me results I am happy with!

College Counseling FAQs
When should my student begin working with you?
Students discover they need my services at different points in their high school careers. I offer two comprehensive college counseling packages to meet the needs of different students: the Three/Four-Year Comprehensive Package and the Two-Year Comprehensive Package. I also provide an Essay Support Package for last-minute seniors.
What services do you offer?
Entering 9th/10th grade: The Three/Four-Year Comprehensive Package
This comprehensive package offers consistent guidance through your student’s high school career, including course selection, personal and career inventory assessments, and making the most of their high school experience. I guide your student from start to finish. Families have access to me starting in ninth or tenth grade for full-service coaching until the end of their senior year. This is an excellent option for younger high school students seeking extra support before the ‘active stage’ of the college admissions process begins. The three/four-year package attracts students who are dedicated to developing their strongest high school resume and getting the most out of the learning opportunities available to them.
Entering 11th grade: The Two-Year Comprehensive Package
My two-year college counseling package begins as early as August of a student’s junior year, though students can start at anytime before June of their senior summer - we increase frequency of our meetings to get through all of the material. I recommend students start early, but I understand college applications might not be on the student, or the parents’, radar until the second semester.
I advise on the remaining two years of high school course selection, extracurriculars, resume prep, internship, and work experience. The junior year start is a popular choice because there is a comfortable cadence and ample preparation time for students to explore their interests and find their best-fit college. Students and families can expect one meeting per month in their junior year. Beginning in the summer before senior year, we will meet once weekly. This package assists the typical student through the college search and admissions process with organizational oversight and direction.
Essay Support Package
This package is designed for students seeking assistance with only the personal statement application essay. The Essay Support Package includes five in-person/virtual meetings for assessing personal inventory, brainstorming, topic selection, drafting, and editing the Personal Statement essay to completion. The services offered in the Essay Support Package are included in both Comprehensive and Senior Sprint Packages. *Discount available for participants of Robin’s College Essay Writing Workshop.*
What is the cost of your services?
Pricing varies depending on specific timelines for your student. Please get in touch with me here for my pricing and package information.
Do you have a college acceptance guarantee?
I do not promise guaranteed acceptance to specific schools, and I caution against working with any professional who does. I help your student find their best-fit schools for them as an individual. I do so by committing to the ethical standards outlined by professional membership organizations that I am a member of (HECA, CCC).
I invest time getting to know your student, researching current admission trends, participating in professional development, attending and presenting at conferences, visiting college campuses, and networking with admissions staff. The most valuable services I provide to families are my experience in academia, rapport I build with students, and expertise in college admissions. I help your student create their own success.
Will you write my student’s admission essays?
No. The essay process is a significant part of what we do together. However, colleges are looking for your student’s voice to shine through. I facilitate engaging and fun brainstorming sessions with your student to guide them toward their strongest essay topic. I help your student scaffold their outlines and offer prompts to write a solid and cohesive narrative. Your student can expect me to lightly edit their essays for grammar, spelling, and flow. Colleges want to hear from your student - I ensure they authentically present their very best self to the admissions team.
What can parents expect from my service?
I believe that clear expectations and communication are the keys to our success together. I include families from the outset and consistently throughout our time working together.
We both sign a contract outlining what you can expect from me as an independent college admissions consultant and discuss the roles and responsibilities of the student and the parent(s)/guardian(s).
I document each working session with your student and send you and your student the assignments to be completed before our next session through CounselMore, the leading college planning software. I communicate with both you and your student if they need to complete their work between our sessions or have upcoming deadlines approaching.
